The Mackinac Bridge Authority sponsored the 49th annual Mackinac Bridge Walk on Labor Day, September 4, 2006. This was my first time participating in the walk, but my mother and step-father have done this several times now. We woke up at 3 AM to drive to the bridge by 8 AM. It was great fun and the weather was perfect despite a few clouds at the onset. My commemorative certificate lists me as the 12,045th person to walk the bridge in 2006.
